Product Update Overview
3500 Monitoring System Power Supplies are half-height modules that accept a
wide range of input voltages, and convert them to voltages acceptable for use
by other 3500 modules. The power supplies consist of a main supply module
installed in the front of the rack and a Power Input Module (PIM) installed in the
back of the system. The supply architecture is such that different modules are
used for AC power mains and DC power mains. Additionally there are different
modules applied for Low Voltage versus High Voltage. This results in four
unique orderable variants of the 3500/15 Power Supply, the High Voltage AC
(HVAC), Low Voltage AC (LVAC), High Voltage DC (HVDC), and the Low Voltage
DC (LVDC).
This Product Update Notice is to inform you an updated design for the AC
versions of the 3500/15 power supply is now available. The updated design
includes changes to ordering options for the AC versions of the 3500/15 power
supply, as well as the spare part numbers. These AC power supply ordering
options and part number updates have no effect on the DC version options

and spare part numbers at this time.

The legacy ordering options and currently updated options for the 3500/15 when ordered in a 3500 system, are
summarized in Table 1 bellow.

The new Universal AC Main Module and PIM functionally replace the Legacy 3500/15 AC Main Module and both the High
and Low Voltage AC PIMs. However, due to technical regulations and standards compliance, the new Universal AC Main
Module must be paired only with the new Universal AC PIMs. Neither component can be mixed with legacy AC Main
Modules or PIMs. A mixed system in which a new Universal AC Main Module or PIM is paired with a legacy AC Main
Module or PIM will not present a safety issue although the system may fail to function properly and does not comply with
general electrical safety certification. A mixed legacy/new Main Module-PIM set is unacceptable.
